I have a hard work ethic as I perform all tasks given to the highest standard capable whilst open to assistance in order to improve and maintain a high standard. I can also effectively work as part of a team and independently for the required task. Throughout my time in education I have learnt a variety of transferable skills making me versatile in many working environments as I can apply myself to situations in addition to being able to communicate appropriately with people in order to achieve a successful outcome.
Hobbies and Interests
Writing is my main passion as I write for a variety of of publications covering a range of genres within journalism. I also played the guitar in a band named ‘The Crestas’ and have played many gigs around the Lincolnshire area, although I left the band to pursue further with my ambition to become a Music Journalist. I have also recently taken an interest in fitness and have managed to lose 5 stone so far due to healthy eating and joining the gym whilst at University.

Experience
Voxx Magazine – Volunteer led magazine. Includes writing for a variety of genres including music, travel, topical debates and interviews with a variety of people.
Quays News – Independent from the University of Salford, Quays news operates as a fully functioning news organisation. Working as part of a team in producing local news stories, music, theatre, and many more for both TV and online sections of the team.
Manchester Evening News – Freelance journalist, writing music reviews when called upon for Manchester’s number one local news publication.
Stencil Magazine – A heavy rock music magazine in which I have contributed several reviews towards, as well as introductions to other pieces throughout the magazine.
NME.com – Four week work experience placement. Activities included researching potential stories, attending the morning content meeting contributing ideas, transcriptions of interviews and general assistance to professional journalists.
Radio5Live guest – I have been requested to appear on several Radio5live shows as part of their coverage of the EU Referendum. This included offering ideas on how to get young voters interested in which, as a group of three, Radio5Live agreed a blog style format expressing our opinions would work best. I have also appeared on the show twice live on air, representing young voters opinions as part of a panel.
Xune Mag – Freelance writer – For Xune Magazine I have produced online music review based articles. Articles can be found here.
The Bolton News – As part of my Masters course at the University of Salford, I was to partake in a short placement period. For this I attended two weeks at The Bolton News producing local news based journalism in which the content I produced made both online and printed publication.
